Couples Therapy
Couples Therapy with structure, depth and direction
This is not open-ended counselling – it is structured, intentional work designed to create movement.
Relationships are complex. When difficulties arise, it is rarely just about communication – it often reflects deeper patterns, unmet needs and accumulated experiences over time.
At Sanctum Psychology, couples work is approached with both structure and depth.
Our approach
Our approach integrates the Gottman Method (including the Sound Relationship House framework) with elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
This allows us to address both:
- Practical relationship skills
- Underlying emotional and individual dynamics
What this means in practice
- Clear assessment of relationship patterns
- Structured sessions with direction and purpose
- Support for communication, repair, and reconnection
- Exploration of deeper emotional and individual factors
- Honest conversations about viability and future direction
Who this is for
- Couples experiencing conflict or disconnection
- Partners navigating major life transitions
- Individuals seeking clarity about the future of their relationship
- Couples wanting to strengthen an already functional relationship
